Tips On Using The Affirmation Triggers

Monday, November 9th, 2009

I have been sending affirmations to myself for a little while now every 10 minutes during the day, every day. A good friend of mine has been sending them to himself every 30 minutes. He, jokingly, said a few times that he does not know how I can keep up with my affirmations settings.

I talked about before, how I think it is very important to feel like your affirmation is true for it to manifest. One thing that I noticed is that I am getting used to my affirmations. I have read them so many times that I memorized them, so I begin to ‘tune-out’ when I read them – in other words, it read them automatically instead of with my full attention on them.

One of the things that I try to do to keep it fresh and interesting is to change my affirmations once in a while. I don’t mean that I change them completely – I just change the wording so that the overall meaning is the same, but the way that they are presented is different. I noticed that my brain is more receptive to the new affirmations for a while.

Another thing that I do is force myself to pause, take a deep breath, read the affirmation, close my eyes, and spend a few seconds putting myself mentally in the world where this affirmation is true. This exercises, I find, is very effective at breaking the routine of reading the same affirmations over and over.

To help you keep your mind focused on the affirmations, consider making them longer. I tend to make mine pretty short and to the point, which makes them easy to remember. My friend, on the other hand, has created his affirmations with a considerable amount of detail. They are longer and are more difficult to memorize, so it forces you to read them instead of glancing at them.

Do you have any tips that you would like to share?

Nothing Manifests Without Intention

Monday, October 19th, 2009

I had an interesting conversation with a good friend of mine who brought up a point that without intention nothing would manifest in this world. It is a very simple, yet a very profound statement at the same time.

How do you get any result in life? Whether it is to go to school, grab a snack, or go see a show, it all starts with a quick thought “hey, I should do that” and an intention to actually do it. People invented a car because they had an intention to have a better way of transportation than horses and they invented the airplane because of an intention to fly.

That is why achieving something in your life also starts with an intention. Many times the intentions are installed by someone else, like your parents, and many of the your current results in life are there because of those ’subconscious’ intentions. To achieve something different, however, you need to set some conscious intentions for your life (you can call it goals or affirmations). After you set your intention, you’ll need to trigger your brain to think actually think about it on the regular basis. Intention cards are a great method – this is where you write down your goal, intention, or affirmation on a card and read it as often as possible. Affirmation Triggers is a good alternative – it’s a free service that will send your own affirmations to your phone at regular intervals. Sorry for the plug :)

So, everything starts with an intention, or in other words, a thought, so what do you think about?

How To Increase Your Vibratory Rate

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I believe that the entire concept of attracting the things that you desire and living the life you want is based on the ability to increase your vibratory rate. When you are able to generate higher frequency vibrations, you’ll have the wind at your back when it comes to working with the universe – you will generate ideas, find energy to work on those ideas, and discover that you ‘magically’ meet the people you need to turn your idea into something more concrete. The opposite is also true; if you remain at the same vibratory rate as you have always maintained, you will keep manifesting the results you are used to.

So how do we increase our vibratory rate? The broad guide to use, is to do the things that make you feel good, excluding the things that leave you in pain at the end, like drugs, where you feel great for a little while only to find yourself in misery after the high has worn off.

I am certain that there are many more strategies for increasing your vibratory rate, but here are some of my favourites:

  • eat wholesome foods that give me long lasting energy with one of my favourites being a nice, green salad with salmon or chicken.
  • move, or in other words, get some exercise, even if it is just going for a walk
  • listen to audio books and read the actual books by the authors that inspire and motivate you – it’s hard to feel down when Tony Robbins is talking about his personal story
  • read articles and watch documentaries and movies about different entrepreneurs, their achievements, and how they overcame different obstacles and challenges (or something else that is inspiring to you)
  • be grateful for what you have in your life right now and for what is coming – I like to say that my next car is ‘clearing customs’, as it has been shipped from overseas and has not been released for delivery yet
  • visualize and generate the feelings of living the life you want to live – living in that dream house, being with that ideal person, driving that babe of the car
  • use affirmations and Affirmation Triggers (excuse the plug, but this did make a difference in my life)
  • and last but not least, get some sun!

I hope that you can apply some of these strategies in your life, but I wonder, what strategies do you use?

The Affirmation Difference

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

For years I have heard and read about the magic of affirmations. And it seems so simple – just write down your affirmations on a card, read the card as often as possible, and watch your affirmations materialize.

I understood the purpose of writing the affirmations down and reading them – every time you read them they are supposed to remind you of your intentions for your life. But I always questioned whether I actually had to write them down. I mean, if I keep my intentions in my mind all the time anyway, what is the point of writing them down? So I never did.

And, as much as I hate to admit it, my results were not what I was truly looking for. Don’t get me wrong, I was getting some results, but just not at the level that I truly desired. One day, after hearing in an audio book for, like, a 100th time the importance of actually writing down your affirmations, I decided to give it a shot.

I bought a pack of cue cards and wrote down my intentions – I had 20 of them. Then every morning I took a new cue card and wrote down one of the intentions on it. I read the card as often as I remembered to. It turns out that I did not have my intentions in my mind as often as I previously thought.

An interesting shift occurred and I definitely noticed a difference within. I noticed that I was more energized and had a more positive outlook. I had some great ideas come to me (more on this later). It was also a lot easier to feel as if the results that I was after were already in my life. And while the results have not manifested yet, I know that they are on the way.

So if you are like me, wondering whether there is a point to actually writing your affirmations down…in the words of Nike, ‘Just Do It’! You should notice the difference in how you feel the very first day.
