All True Thinking Is Instantaneous

Monday, November 16th, 2009

James Arthur Ray said, and I am paraphrasing, that ‘all true thinking is instantaneous and that all else is mindless deliberation’. This post goes well with the one I wrote earlier entitled ‘Where Do All New Ideas Come From?‘.

James Arthur Ray argued for the Universal Subconscious and that all new ideas are instantaneous and are the result of your connections with the Universal Mind in that moment. Otherwise, when you are consciously thinking about and pondering on a concept or idea, you are limited to what you already know. That is all that you have access to, since you are relying on your conscious mind, and your conscious mind is only aware of a portion of your overall experiences to date. It has no access to any new information – it can only take old information and repackage it into something that looks new. I don’t know about you, but I am yet to come up with something even remotely ‘revolutionary’ via that process.

To me that makes perfect sense and I have a lot of proof supporting that concept when I simply look back on my life and my experiences. That is why these days I never really think about a problem that requires a new idea since I know that I will not come up with it using my conscious mind – I simply turn it over to the Universal Subconscious and wait for an answer in the form of an instantaneous idea that just pops into my head.

Albert Einstein said that “The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” This says to me that we need to expand our awareness because problems that we created cannot be solved with the things that we already know. And, in my experience, one of the best ways to expand my awareness is to get in touch with the Universal Subconscious.

Spiritual Mind Treatment (2009.11.13)

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Here is an example of a Spiritual Mind Treatment – this treatment is more general in nature, rather than for a specific purpose. Take these words as your own, if you choose.

This is what I know. I know that there is One Source of everything, and I chose to call it the ‘Universal Intelligence’. This Universal Intelligence is infinite, but it contains space within, It is timeless, yet it contains time within, and It is formless, though it contains form within. I know that this Universal Intelligence is everywhere – it penetrates, permeates, and fills the inter-spaces of the Universe, and it does so through a Substance that I call ‘Energy’. This Energy is the field of unlimited potential where the only possible answer is a resounding ‘yes!’. I know that this Universal Intelligence is conscious of Itself, and that any though submitted by Consciousness to this Energy manifests in the physical realm in accord with very specific Laws. I know that these Laws are impersonal and respond to every thought in very much the same way, regardless of who thinks the thought, much like the soil nurtures any and every seed that is planted in it. I also know that the action of the Law is manifestation and it is easy and effortless, much like the grass does not strain to grow.

I know that I am a perfect, whole, and complete individualization of this Universal Intelligence. I know that this Energy, at all times, runs through every cell of my body and always gives each cell exactly what it needs to operate at the peak of its potential. I know that my consciousness is part of the the Universal Consciousness and it is the very reason my body exists. And because I am an individualization of the Universal Intelligence, I know that I possess the same creative ability, and that all my thoughts submitted to the underlying Substance of life – this ever-present Energy field – are, according to the Law, manifesting in my reality each and every time without exception. I know that the Universe is always on my side and that it always shows me the quickest, fastest, and easiest way between where I am and where I want to go. I realize that the Universe lacks no thing, and since I am part of it, I too lack no thing. All limitation is the creation of my ego and here and now I release all feelings of fear, guilt, lack, limitation, and resentment, filling the space with pure Love, joy, abundance, happiness, and potential.

So here and now, with full awareness of my creative abilities and my unlimited potential, I am creating a mold for the Universe to fill. I am creating a mold of joy, happiness, abundance, health, and prosperity in my life. And I know that as I speak these words and feel their Truth in the core of my being, they are in the process of manifesting in my life. For that I am deeply grateful.

From the core of my being and the bottom of my heart, I am thankful to be a part of this magnificent Universe, for sharing this endless bond with the Universal Intelligence, for having the life-giving Energy fill every cell of my body, for being a part of the creative process.

So, here and now, I release these words to the Universe, and know that the Law is already acting on the mold that I created with my thoughts and is bringing the physical manifestation into my actual experience – immediately and effortlessly – because that is how the Universe works. I know this to be the Truth, and so it is!

Where Do New Ideas Come From

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

I had a question pop into my head a few minutes ago – where do new ideas come from? So I decided to write a post about that very question.

One explanation, which is rather basic and which does not really answer the question, is that new ideas come when our brains taking the information that we know and extrapolating it to come up with a new idea. OK, cool. The issue that I have with that explanation is that, in that case, coming up with new ideas would involve a step-by-step process, much like the process we went through in math class while solving problems, where we took known information, applied some equations, and arrived at a result. In my experience, when I come up with a new idea, it’s nothing like a process – the idea somehow appears in my conscious mind.

So a partial explanation is that new ideas come into our conscious mind from our subconscious mind. Our subconscious minds go through the problem solving process and just push the idea into our conscious mind so that it appears to just ‘pop’ into our head. OK, so the subconscious mind may do the step-by-step process, but how does it extrapolate into new territory? And more importantly, how does it come with truly new, revolutionary ideas? And what is stored in our subconscious mind anyway?

If we treat our subconscious minds as a stand-alone entity, then it would be impossible to have anything there that we have not yet experienced. At birth your subconscious mind is ‘empty’ and as you grow up and go through experiences, it fills up with information and ideas. Those are the only things we could have in it. So that still does not answer how we come up with truly new ideas.

Well, I am going to argue that new ideas come to our subconscious mind through its connection with the Universal Subconscious – the Universal Mind where all ideas and solutions already exists. Our ability to access these ideas in the Universal Subconscious is directly proportional to our awareness and understanding of this concept, our acceptance of it, and our willingness to listen to it. Everyone accesses the Universal Subconscious at one point or another, at least everyone who has had a ‘brand new’ idea in their life. Some people, like Nicola Tesla, could access the Universal Subconscious pretty much at will. That is a pretty exciting position to be in, isn’t it?

Is the argument logical? Do you have ideas of your own?

Spiritual Mind Treatment And Meditation

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Yesterday I talked about the 5 steps of the Spiritual Mind Treatment. Today I want to talk about how the Spiritual Mind Treatment relates to the meditation. Both practices are quite important according to the people who are teaching the Science of Mind course. Now that I understand how the two relate, it is no surprise that they are important, so I thought this would be an appropriate time to share.

Spiritual Mind Treatment, or Affirmative Prayer, is essentially the process of creation of the molds for the Universe to fill and bring to the physical reality. In other words, this is you talking to the Universe. In the past I said that the Universe does not understand words, which It does not, so you are not literally TALKING to the Universe, but you get the idea. In fact, you do not need to say anything to perform the Spiritual Mind Treatment, as long as you go through the five steps in FEELING.

Now often you will need to do something in order to manifest the good that you desire in your life. If you are after the cash and want to win the lottery, you still need to go out and get the ticket. If you want to find that perfect mate, you will need to get out of the house and meet people, or at least have pizzas delivered 3 times a day and hope for the cute delivery person…though chances are a pizza delivery person does not fall into your ‘ideal mate’ category, but maybe that’s just me.

So how do you know what action to take? Well, in my experience it comes in a form of inspiration or a nudge to do something or go somewhere. No, I do not hear a voice talking to me (who’s there??), but I do get a thought or a nudge to do something. I have heard a story of a guy who went into a gas station to get a few things and the total came out to $6.49. He right away bought a lottery ticket and won the lottery. Now whether this story is true or not does not matter, though it would be cool if it was true, but it illustrates what I mean by the nudge to do something, even though that was a pretty blatant nudge – often they are more subtle than that. You need to be in the position to hear what the Universe is telling you, but we are often so stressed out and have so many things going on, that the daily noise of our lives obstructs, distorts, and sometimes completely gets in the way, of what the Universe is saying.

This is where meditation comes in. With meditation you quiet your mind and make yourself more receptive to hearing what the Universe is telling you. So, in other words, meditation is you listening to the Universe for feedback on what you need to do in order to complete the creation process.

So to sum up, Spiritual Mind Treatment is talking to the Universe, while meditation is listening to what the Universe is coming back with.

The 5 Parts Of The Spiritual Mind Treatment

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

This post is a little overdue since we have learned about Spiritual Mind Treatments, also knows as Affirmative Prayers, a few weeks back in our Science Of Mind class. I am not sure why I have not touched on this before, but I guess since I did not have the inspiration to do so, it wasn’t time yet.

First of all, Affirmative Prayer is not your traditional type of prayer where you plead your case to God and beg him (or her :o ) to give you what you want. The only similarity between traditional prayer and an Affirmative Prayer is that they are both aimed at communication with the Universe, hence the word ‘prayer’ in the name. But the similarities end there. I am thinking, I will post one of my own Spiritual Mind Treatments on Friday, but first let me run through the 5 steps first.

Step 1: Recognition that everything is One and comes from a single Source. Religions call this Source ‘God’; I say that the Universe is the Source of everything and that Energy, it’s life force, runs through everything and is everywhere at all times. I also recognize that a thought impressed upon this Energy, this underlying Substance of all life, according to the Laws of the Universe manifests into physical form (this is the basis for the Law of Attraction)
Step 2: Unification with the Universe. Here I extend the idea that since everything is Energy, and everything is one, then I too, am Energy and am part of the magnificent Universe that I, and you, live in. And since I too have thoughts, my thoughts impressed upon this Energy, follow the same Laws of the Universe and manifest as physical form in my experience of life.
Step 3: Declaration that since I am one with the Universe and have the same creative capacity with my thoughts, I am taking part in the creative process. Here I initiate the creative process by consciously thinking about the things and situations that I want to manifest in my life. In other words, I provide a mold for the Universe to fill.
Step 4: Thanksgiving. I give my sincere thank for being part of this incredible Universe, for Its Laws, and for my recognition of the Truth. I thank for the fact that I take part in the creation process with my thoughts and that the Universe is already filling the molds I just provided. I thank for the Love and Peace that surround me.
Step 5: Release of my mold into the Universe. In this step I recognize the fact that the Universe is doing its part in the creative process in accord with Its Laws and that my job is to look for feedback and for inspiration to take some action, if necessary. In other words, ‘I let go, and let God’, and I finish with ‘and so It is!‘.

So these are the 5 steps of the Spiritual Mind Treatment. If this happens to be the first post that you are reading on this blog without any prior knowledge of what I am talking about, I understand your confusion. You can reject what I have said, but if any aspect of the words above rings true, I would strongly encourage you to read some other posts by going through the archives and by visiting my blog in the near future, as well as to explore the subject of Religious Science and Spiritual Mind Treatments online and otherwise.

Tips On Using The Affirmation Triggers

Monday, November 9th, 2009

I have been sending affirmations to myself for a little while now every 10 minutes during the day, every day. A good friend of mine has been sending them to himself every 30 minutes. He, jokingly, said a few times that he does not know how I can keep up with my affirmations settings.

I talked about before, how I think it is very important to feel like your affirmation is true for it to manifest. One thing that I noticed is that I am getting used to my affirmations. I have read them so many times that I memorized them, so I begin to ‘tune-out’ when I read them – in other words, it read them automatically instead of with my full attention on them.

One of the things that I try to do to keep it fresh and interesting is to change my affirmations once in a while. I don’t mean that I change them completely – I just change the wording so that the overall meaning is the same, but the way that they are presented is different. I noticed that my brain is more receptive to the new affirmations for a while.

Another thing that I do is force myself to pause, take a deep breath, read the affirmation, close my eyes, and spend a few seconds putting myself mentally in the world where this affirmation is true. This exercises, I find, is very effective at breaking the routine of reading the same affirmations over and over.

To help you keep your mind focused on the affirmations, consider making them longer. I tend to make mine pretty short and to the point, which makes them easy to remember. My friend, on the other hand, has created his affirmations with a considerable amount of detail. They are longer and are more difficult to memorize, so it forces you to read them instead of glancing at them.

Do you have any tips that you would like to share?

Working With The Core

Friday, November 6th, 2009

I have come across a wide variety of materials when it comes to self-development, understanding our minds, and figuring out our roles in this Universe. It started for me with the Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins and now I am studying The Science Of Mind by Ernest Holmes. While I find both extremely useful and powerful, they have very different scopes.

I view the entire field of self-study as a circle – a circle of self-mastery – and Unlimited Power would be on the circumference while The Science Of Mind would be near the centre, if not not the centre itself. Tony Robbins and speakers/authors like him offer phenomenal material and incredible value, but they are working with easy-to-follow personal development strategies. They have wide appeal – hence they are on the circumference of the circle of self-mastery – and are easier to grasp and understand.

Ernest Holmes, on the other hand, is not a celebrity and does not have an enormous following. The Science Of Mind is a challenging book to read and is difficult to understand. It, however, deals with the inner-workings of the Universe and tries to drill as far down as possible into how we, as humans, relate to the Universe at large. Ultimately it explains exactly how, and why, the easy-to-follow personal development strategies work.

The interesting thing here is that it is rather challenging to start at the core and work your way out – it is simply too difficult to understand what the heck the core of the circle of self-mastery is all about. I have had an experience where I heard a speaker (don’t remember his name at this time) and thought that he was off the wall. A couple years later, after learning a considerable amount about the Universe that we live in, I heard him speak again and, this time, he made a lot more sense. So I had to work my way from the outside of the circle of self-mastery towards the core, step by step. That way, I built on materials that I learned previously and understood what I was learning at the time a lot better.

And now that I have explored more material near the core of the circle of self-mastery, it makes the materials closer to the edge much more spectacular and mind-blowing. But I do find that working with the core materials is much more effective and much more rewarding.

I wonder if you have had similar experiences?

The Intention Experiment

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Yesterday I had a friend tell me about The Intention Experiment – a large scale experiment initiated by Lynne McTaggart to scientifically explore the concept of mind over matter. Their next experiment is on December 5th, 2009, and I have signed up to participate. I just signed up last night, so I do not have a lot of information about the coming experiment, but I am looking forward to finding out.

It seems like Dan Brown, in his latest book, The Lost Symbol, featured Lynne McTaggart; I have not read that book, so I am not sure to what extent she is featured, but that seem pretty cool.

Overall, the concept of testing ‘mind over matter’ on large scale sounds very interesting. On their website they talk about a number of the experiments that were conducted already and have results that show the power of intention with statistical significance. To me, hearing something like ’statistical significance’ is music to my ears when it comes to the metaphysical. If you have been reading my blog, you know that I deeply believe in the power of our thoughts and our intentions, but I do not believe blindly. I believe in the power of my thoughts because of the actual evidence that is accumulating and am very happy when I find new evidence to support that.

And it is really neat to see the power of intention when many people come together. So I am excited to learn more about the experiment and participate in them.

The Argument For Universal Consciousness

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

The book, The Science of Mind, by Ernest Holmes, is very fascinating. With every chapter that I read, I get half a dozen ideas to write about. Holmes had quite an elegant argument for Universal Consciousness and eternal creation.

Let us start with a scientific premise that everything in this world, including the physical surroundings that we can see, is nothing but energy – I will call it Universal Energy. I don’t think that there is much argument on that. Einstein’s famous equation (E = mc2) demonstrates that energy and mass are interchangeable. So how do we turn energy into matter?

This is something that the Law Of Attraction talks about – how our thoughts initiate the creation process and result in the manifestation of our thoughts in the physical plane. So thought, or consciousness, is the creative force – the catalyst – that turns energy into matter.

You must have heard the argument that we are all connected, and this should not be a difficult concept to grasp if we come back to the basic premise that everything is energy. If everything is energy, then everything is ONE thing, and one thing must be connected. Our thoughts, and our consciousness, are also connected to, what I will call here, the Universal Consciousness. This is where our ideas come from, especially those ‘aha’ types of ideas, and this also is an explanation of how people like Tesla were able to come up with some incredible inventions and designs. This Universal Consciousness is the result of the Universal Energy field being aware of itself. I know that this is hard to wrap your head around, but think of it like your body being the energy and your mind being the consciousness. Your mind is aware and is conscious of your body.

Since consciousness is the creative force, then without it, nothing would exist and the Universal Energy would be still and stagnant. Again, think of your mind and body – without your mind, your body would be lifeless. Since we live in a physical world, which was here long before we, as humans, were here, then its existence is the proof that the Universal Consciousness exists. And to be conscious means that there is something – a thing, an item, or some form – to be conscious of. And this thing, item, or some form, is exactly what manifests into physical form from the Universal Energy. So, we can conclude that to be conscious is to create and that creation is happening as long as there is consciousness.

Religious Science

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

The people at the Centre For Spiritual Living that I started to attend, say that they are about the philosophy of Religious Science. From the very beginning, I have thought that it was an interesting choice of words, and maybe that is what enticed me to find out more.

If you think about it, Religious Science is an oxymoron. For centuries the two have been committed enemies, and it is only recently that select people from both sides began to recognize the fact that they may simply be looking at different sides of the same coin.

Religion is about faith and not needing to have any concrete proof, because all the proof you need is in your heart. Frankly, it’s hard for me to buy that, even though I understand and appreciate the power of faith. I don’t have a problem with faith, but I do have a problem with blind faith where the only argument is that ‘I believe’.

Science, on the other hand, is all about proving something. It is about coming up with hypotheses and then making up countless experiments to prove them. And when there is contradictory evidence to the given hypothesis, it needs to be adjusted so that it hold in every case. There is very little room for ‘faith’ and for ‘I believe’ in science, besides maybe having the faith that you will find a solution.

That is why I found the term ‘Religious Science’ so peculiar. What it means to me is a scientific approach to religion – I feel that there is more to this world than meets the eye (this is an example of my faith), so let’s take a closer look at it, investigate it with a scientific approach, and see how we can understand it better in order to live healthier, happier, more prosperous, and more joyful lives.

Until next time,
